Bat For Lashes - All Your Gold (2012)

Κάποιοι από εσάς δεν τους (την) ξέρετε καθόλου. Κάποιοι την γνωρίσατε όταν μάθατε ότι είναι στα αγαπημένα ακούσματα του Thom Yorke των Radiohead. Κάποιοι λίγοι την ξέρετε από το ντεμπούτο album της “Fur & Gold” το 2006.
Η Natasha Khan έγινε γνωστή στον κόσμο με το ψευδώνυμο υπό το οποίο εκδίδει τα τραγούδια της, Bat For Lashes.
Ιδιαίτερα καλλιτεχνική φύση, η Khan σπούδασε μουσική και εικαστικές τέχνες. Η διάθεσή της για πειραματισμό και πρωτοπορία αντανακλάται πλήρως στον χαρακτηριστικό ήχο της, όπου το folk συναντά την electronica και το indie pop. Η φωνή και η μουσική της μοιάζει με αυτή της Bjork και της Kate Bush κυρίως και ενίοτε της Tori Amos. Ουσιαστικά, τη γνωρίσαμε με το super single από το πρώτο album της “What’s a girl to do?” και από τις περιοδείες των Radiohead και M.I.A. τις οποίες και άνοιγε.

Το 2009 κυκλοφόρησε το δεύτερο album της Bat for Lashes με τίτλο “Two Suns” και με κορυφαιες στιγμες τα κομματια "Good Love", "Glass", "Siren Song" και "Sleep Alone".

Το τρίτο της άλμπουμ κυκλοφόρησε στις 12 Οκτώβρη του 2012 με τίτλο The Haunted Man. Της κυκλοφορίας αυτής προηγήθηκαν δύο singles, το πιο πρόσφατο εκ των οποίων ήταν το All Your Gold. Tribal κρουστά που αρχίζουν να μπλέκονται με autoharp και ηλεκτρονικά μέρη, για να φτάσουν σε ένα ρεφραίν με πιο rock προσανατολισμό. Αυτό που κυριαρχεί στο κομμάτι φυσικά είναι η εξαιρετική φωνητική ερμηνεία της Khan που ανεβοκατεβαίνει κλίμακες και υπηρετεί το τραγούδι στο έπακρο. Δείτε και το όμορφο βίντεο κλιπ που γυρίστηκε, προσωπικά η χορογραφία του μου θύμισε εκείνη του Thom Yorke στο αντίστοιχο βίντεο για το Lotus Flower των Radiohead.
